Why do we roll all lawns?

Rolling is an important part of installing sod in your lawn. Unlike most installers, we roll (pack) each lawn. Doing so removes any air pockets and stabilizes the graded surface to ensure good sod to soil contact. A newly graded lawn may appear level to the eye but the density of the soil can actually vary quite a lot from one spot to another. Sod laid on such a non-compacted surface is prone to settling more in some areas than others. Rolling helps alleviate this problem and is important in maintaining the designed grade/contour of your lawn. Benefits of establishing a smooth lawn include more even water distribution and drainage as well as increased mowing speed and a more uniform cut.
